Equity and Inclusion

Equity and Inclusion measures at the AOC 2025
We aim to create an open and friendly atmosphere where everyone feels welcome. We recognise that conferences are not equally accessible to everyone and strive to be as inclusive as possible.
With this in mind, measures we are undertaking for the AOC 2025 include:
- We are exploring options of making the AOC 2025 parent/child friendly. If you would like to discuss childcare options or prefer to bring your own child carer (such as a family member or nanny from home) please contact aoc@birdlife.org.au.
- We will ensure the venue is wheelchair accessible.
- We will engage with Auslan interpreters and continue investigating whether automated live captioning options will be possible during all sessions.
- We will provide travel grants for eligible students.
- Unfortunately, COVID-19 is still a concern. To reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission during our conference we are taking a number of precautionary measures, and we encourage all attendees to be aware, so that even vulnerable members of our community can enjoy themselves. It is up to us to create a safe environment for everyone.
